The Department of Public Welfare (DPW) operates a variety of programs designed to provide temporary support to families in transition from government dependency to economic self-sufficiency. Support may include education, job training and placement assistance, transportation, other support services and cash assistance. Combined, these programs touch the lives of hundreds of thousands of Pennsylvanians.
